Through a generous donation from AAA East Penn Scholarship Fund, an endowed scholarship has been established to assist deserving students with the cost of attending college at LCCC. Available for Fall and Spring. Scholarships are awarded to new and continuing students.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate need as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Be enrolled for at least six credits for Fall and Spring semesters.

Allentown Young Professionals



The Allentown Young Professionals Association provides $1,000 in annual scholarships to the College to help students gain access to higher education through LCCC; specifically to defray a portion of the costs of tuition and fees for the academic year. Available for Fall and Spring. Scholarships are awarded to new and continuing students.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate need as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Resident of Allentown
  • Preference given to minority students 
  • Submit essay on the following topic: "What goals are you pursuing that your education will help you accomplish?"
  • Complete an Interview Skills Program through LCCC Career Services Center

To provide aid to a deserving student or students who wish to pursue their education at Lehigh Carbon Community College and are children or grandchildren of an LCCC graduate.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a child or grandchild of an LCCC Graduate.
  • Must attend LCCC during the semester following submission of the application.
  • Minimum GPA 2.0 
  • Demonstrate community service.
  • Complete an essay, "Why have you chosen the academic or career field you are pursuing?"

  • Second Year Associate Degree Nursing student

  • Three quarter time (9-11 credits) to full time enrollment (12 or more credits)

As part of the College's 50th anniversary, a grant was approved by the Arcadia Foundation to fund scholarships for students in our Fine Arts Program.

Established in 1995 to support the Associate Degree Nursing Program at LCCC. This scholarship is awarded in the Spring semester.

Qualifications:
  • First-year Associate Degree Nursing Student
  • Must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Blue Knights, Sgt Ronald Kulp Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship fund is provided to a deserving student in the Criminal Justice program, in memory of Ronald Kulp, a retired Sergeant from the Whitehall Township Police Department, who served the community with pride and dedication for 30 years before retiring in 1993. Prior to becoming a Law Enforcement Officer, Sgt. Kulp was a US Marine and graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police academy. The Membership of the Blue Knights PA III Chapter offers this scholarship in memory of Sgt. Ronald Kulp. During his career and into retirement, Sgt. Kulp continued to be a strong proponent of training in all aspects of the Law Enforcement Community, to make sure each and every officer he worked with and trained were the "best of the best".Sgt. Kulp passed away in September 2015.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a second year, full time student enrolled in the Criminal Justice program.
  • Must reside in the Lehigh Valley.
  • Special consideration shall be given to a person who holds a PA Class M motorcycle license and/or the son or daughter of a parent employed in Law Enforcement.

The Boyle Construction Scholarship offers funds to students enrolled in Construction Management or Construction Technology.

  • Enrolled in Construction Management or Construction Technology program
  • Enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits
  • Minimum GPA 2.0
  • An interview is offered with Boyle Construction after graduation. It is not a guaranteed offer of employment.

Brenda Frana Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is made possible through generous donations from family and friends, in honor of Brenda Frana. Brenda was an employee at Lehigh Carbon Community College for over 13 years and most recently was a Administrative Assistant in the Healthcare and Science Department. Brenda passed away in March 2018. This scholarship will benefit students in the LCCC Nursing program with the cost of tuition, fees, books and supplies. This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester. 

Qualifications

 

  • Must be enrolled in the Nursing (ADN) or Practical Nursing Certificate (NURC) program.
  • Be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credits
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Bruce L. Rothrock Sr. Entrepreneurial Scholarship

Fund Agreement Awarding: Scholarship is for LCCC students enrolled in the Entrepreneurial Programs, Courses, or Workshops. Annually, up to $10,000 will be allotted to scholarships.

The Bruce L. Rothrock, Sr. Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to cover educational expenses to Lehigh, Carbon, and Schuylkill county residents at Lehigh Carbon Community College. Students must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a degree in entrepreneurship and/or taking a non­credit small business course or workshop. 

This scholarship is available for credit and non-credit programs.

Qualifications:
  • Resident of Lehigh, Carbon, or Schuylkill County.
  • Intent to open a small business.
  • Student should complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which determines whether the student is eligible for federal funds.
  • Enroll full time or part time.
  • Available for non-credit courses.

The scholarship was established in the Fall of 2017 in memory of Byron L. Shoemaker, who passed away in February. He was a native of Lehighton and also lived in Pottstown and Macungie before settling in Allentown. He was a 1969 graduate of Lehighton Area High School and Lebanon Valley College. He also earned his MBA from Lehigh University. He was a strong believer in the community college mission. Scholarship funds can be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies and other related expenses. The scholarship is open to recent high school graduates and returning adults.

Qualifications:
  • Be a resident of Lehighton 
  • Preference given to students enrolled in Health Care Science programs, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management and Education programs
  • Be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits.

Century Fund ESL Scholarship



To provide financial assistance to low income residents of Allentown for credit ESL courses. Award is only for students registered for credit ESL courses. Students can only be awarded scholarship funds for a total of two semesters. Evidence of previous educational success and extra-curricular activities in school and the community will be taken into consideration. 

Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or other eligible non-citizen
  • Must be a resident of the City of Allentown
  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and provide a statement of financial need
  • Must be registered for credit ESL courses (3-9 credits)
  • Must not be eligible for a Pell Grant

The Charles Hoch ESL scholarship provides financial assistance for credit ESL courses at sponsored tuition rates.

Eligible candidates should:
  • Register for credit ESL courses
  • Complete a scholarship application
Students can only be awarded scholarship funds for a total of two semesters. Evidence of financial need and previous educational success/community contributions will be taken into consideration.

  • OTA/Healthcare Science student in the last academic semester of the OTA/Healthcare Science Program
  • For OTA students ONLY - Registered for final clincial fieldwork level II
  • Maintained a GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrate community service or active participation in LCCC student organizations
Restrictions:
  • College employees receiving the tuition waiver benefit for themselves, spouses, and legal dependents and individuals who are or who have previously been legal dependents (while the administrator was employed by the College) for courses taken a the College will not be eligible for this scholarship funding.

Mr. and Mrs. Stabler recognize the importance of education and are aware of the fact that many young men and women may not be able to attain the benefit of higher education without financial assistance. The Stablers also believe the recipients of financial assistance should recognize an obligation and be encouraged to return that which they receive so that others may be advantaged by similar assistance. The scholarship is open to all students of Lehigh Carbon Community College. Available to credit and non-credit students. Each recipient of a Stabler scholarship shall sign a letter of intent to contribute to Lehigh Carbon Community College monies at least equal to the amounts received. The commitment letter is a "debt of conscience" and not a legal obligation.

Qualifications:
  • Consideration shall be given to the character, motivation and achievements of candidates who give indication of their eagerness for a college education, do not expect a free education and recognize the virtues of working for what they receive.

The Dr. Gene & Joan Witiak Veterinary Technician Scholarship is available to students are are enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at LCCC, and are in their second year of the program. These funds are available to cover the cost of the educational expenses associated with the program including, but not limited to: tuition, books, and fees.

Qualifications
  • Student must be in their second year of the Vet. Tech Program at LCCC or NCCC
  • Student must retain a GPA of 3.0
  • Student should have a focus in Small Animal Medicine

  • Must be a Veteran, First Responder or graduate of Skills USA Council

The Emily Stevens Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to assist in financial aid for students enrolled in the Kitchen & Bath Design Programs at Lehigh Carbon Community College. 


Qualifications:
  • The student must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Must be referred for the scholarship to Financial Aid by Jim DePietro, head of the Kitchen & Bath Design Program
  • Must be selected by the Financial Aid Department based upon financial need.

STEM-interested Hispanic students will receive a scholarship of up to $1000, spread across two consecutive semesters of enrollment to participate in the NSF HSI STEM program.  Students must meet the following qualifications to receive a scholarship

JLLV Scholarship



The Junior League of the Lehigh Valley was organized in 1922 and is one of the 293 Junior Leagues that represents over 171,000 women in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and England. They mainly focus on solving pressing issues in the Lehigh Valley such as disparity, food insecurity, and literacy. 

The JLLV provides scholarships for the purpose of helping female students further their education.  The funds can be used for tuition, books, fees, housing, transportation and other basic needs.

Justamere Health Care Career Pathway Scholarship



Through the generosity of the Justamere Foundation, the LCCC Foundation is providing this scholarship  opportunity for LCCC students to advance along a health care career pathway through noncredit and credit health care programs.  Students must meet the following qualifications:  

  • A resident of Lehigh, Carbon or Schuylkill County.
  • Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an LCCC noncredit health care program (Nurse Aid, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy Technician, EKG Technician, EMT, and Medical Office Administrator) and wants to enroll in one of the following credit health care programs of study (Health Sciences A.S., Medical Assistant Certificate, and Practical Nursing Certificate, and /or Health Information Technology A.A.S.). 
  • Currently enrolled in Health Science A.S. or another health care academic program and wants to take a noncredit job training course (see above) to earn an industry-recognized credential and meet short-term employment goals.
  • Be employed in an entry-level capacity with a partnering health care employer and be referred by the employer for entrance into an academic health care certificate or degree program.

Scholarships awards: 

For noncredit health care program graduates or individuals referred by health care  employers, scholarships can cover up to 90% of the cost of tuition and fees for the targeted credit programs. Scholarships may also be used for developmental courses as required.

Students currently enrolled in health care credit programs can receive noncredit health care job training scholarships for up to 90% of the cost of the class.

Scholarship Requirements and Conditions:  

1. The applicant must meet with an Adviser  to ensure that all program enrollment requirements are completed prior to applying for this scholarship. 

2. Complete this application and submit it to the Coordinator/Recruiter with a completed noncredit course  registration form.  

3. Recipients must be in and maintain good academic standing.

4. Applicants must complete a FAFSA form.

5. Priority is given to individuals with financial need. 

6.  Students entering credit courses must  have completed all requirements for enrollment including the LCCC application, placement testing, and advising before scholarship approval.

7. Your achievement will be reported to the Justamere Foundation, so you will be asked to share information on  credentials received and employment obtained as a result of your participation in this program. If your contact  information changes, please let the College know.

La Société des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux 697 - Forty and Eight

Veterans returning home from World War I formed an organization where they could enjoy each other's company, serve others who were less fortunate, and show respect for the work done by American nurses who served near the trenches of the front lines. Forty and Eight was formed in memory of the French using railroads to carry personnel and horses close to the front lines. The small boxcars could carry forty people or eight horses. After World War II, the French send 49 "Gratitude Boxcars", one for each state and one for the District of Columbia, to America to thank our country for our support in the World Wars. This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester.

This scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance and foster growth and leadership for Hispanic and/or Latino/a/e/x students. The funds can be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies. The scholarship can be renewed for 1 additional academic year with funds awarded in the Fall and Spring semesters. 

Criteria:
  • Students must identify as Hispanic/Latino/a/e/x
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester
  • Completed 15 credits or less at the time of application
  • Commitment to serve as a mentor to the next incoming cohort of Aspira students
  • In preparation to mentor incoming first-year Aspira students, Aspira scholars will attend four mentorship trainings in the Spring semester on topics of peer support.

  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Take the Aspira FYE course (SDS 109)
  • Complete Latin American Studies course and/or Latin American Literature
  • Attend at least 1 Aspira event each semester

The Lehigh Carbon Community College Foundation provides $100,000 in annual scholarships to the College to help students gain access to higher education through LCCC; specifically to defray a portion of the costs of tuition and fees for the academic year. The Promise Scholarship Program assists Lehigh County recent high school graduates from a sponsoring school district (Allentown, Catasauqua, East Penn, Parkland, Northern Lehigh, Northwestern Lehigh, Salisbury, Southern Lehigh, and Whitehall-Coplay) or students who attended Lehigh Career and Technical Institute who qualify under a sponsoring school district who enroll at Lehigh Carbon Community College. The program will fund sponsored tuition and fees, less Federal Pell grant funding, plus a $500 per semester books and supplies allowance for Federal Pell Grant recipients.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a new, regular admitted student in Fall 2024
  • Must be a Lehigh County Resident
  • 2023 or 2024 graduate of a Lehigh County Sponsoring School District or attended Lehigh Career and Technical Institute under a Sponsoring School District
  • File the FAFSA by May 1 and be a Pell Grant recipient
  • Register for Fall Semester by May 15, Register for Spring Semester by December 1
  • Enrolled in an Associates Degree Program
  • Register for at least 9 credits in each semester of eligibility

Robert G. Koehler Scholarship

The Robert G. Koehler Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of a talented young man. Robert G. Koehler was a 1976 graduate of William Allen High School. He held an Associate in Applied Science degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College. He had a promising career with Pennsylvania Power & Light as an electrical draftsman and was an avid sports fan. Robert was killed in an automobile accident in February, 1992, at the age of 33 years old. Mr. Koehler’s parents contributed the scholarship endowment to help other students attain the educational opportunity that Robert enjoyed at the college.

The Roberta M. Marcus Legacy Scholarship was established to assist Parkland School District Dual Enrollment students in their areas of study. The scholarship will be awarded to three (3) students per year in the amounts of $500 each.

Scheller Family Foundation Scholarship



The Roberta and Ernest Scheller Jr. Family Foundation Scholarship is an endowed scholarship fund, established in 2009. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide aid to deserving Schuylkill County residents who are graduates of LCCC through the John and Dorothy Morgan Center for Higher Learning, and who wish to pursue their education at Kutztown University, Bloomsburg University, East Stroudsburg University or other such institution that is part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).

Qualifications:
  • Must be a current Schuylkill County resident AND Have been a Schuylkill County resident during attendance and graduation from LCCC
  • Must be a recent LCCC graduate, or plan on graduating in the current year AND have earned or will earn either an Assoc. of Arts, Assoc of Science and/or Assoc. of Applied Science degree
  • Does not include LCCC Certificate programs
  • Applicants must demonstrate a financial need by completing a FAFSA prior to April 1 and for each year in which they will receive the scholarship to the school they are attending after LCCC 
  • Must be accepted by: An institution of Pennsylvania State System of High Education (PASSHE). Student must be accepted to a program of study for a baccalaureate degree that can be completed in a maximum of two years (Full time, four semesters. Summer and inter-sessions not included).
  • Application must include a copy of the Letter of Acceptance from the institution 
  • Applicant must consent to release of financial aid and transcript information to the LCCC Foundation for purposes of determining continuing eligibility
  • Provide the Foundation, and keep current, email and telephone contact information once student has begun at the institution
  • Participate in a work study at the University each semester. (A part time or full-time job is equivalent to work study)
  • Agree in advance if the student withdraws from classes, the refund will be sent directly to the LCCC Foundation

The Three C scholarship provides aid to qualified high school students graduating from one of the college’s four sponsoring school districts in Carbon County (sponsoring districts include Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Panther Valley and Palmerton school districts) and who will be attending LCCC beginning in the fall of 2014, 2015, and 2016. This scholarship has been extended to the 2025-2026 academic years.

This scholarship is limited to a total of six credits per semester, two semesters per year (fall and spring only). A scholarship award is for two semesters (fall and spring). Renewals are permitted once. Students must continue to be in good academic standing and be registered for at least 12 credits for the fall of the coming year.

Qualifications:
  • Be a graduate of a high school in a Carbon County sponsoring school district (Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Panther Valley and Palmerton school districts)
  • Have attended that high school for no fewer than the two consecutive academic years immediately prior to graduation
  • Apply for admission to and register with LCCC no later than May 15 (priority date) 
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no later than May 15(priority filing date)
  • Be a degree-seeking candidate enrolled in at least twelve (12) credit hours each semester, fall and spring, in a qualified program
  • Be in good academic standing (not on academic probation)
  • Pay for or arrange funding for six or more credits and fees each semester, after which qualified awardees will receive a scholarship for six additional credits

Wawa Grant Veterans Scholarship



Through the generosity of the Wawa Foundation, the LCCC Foundation will award six scholarships of up to $1,488 for the EMT non-credit program to veterans and active service members residing in Lehigh County. Completers of the program will be certified by the PA Department of Health and will be eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT credential.

Qualifications:
  • The applicant must be a resident of Lehigh County, and at least 18 years of age. 
  • The applicant must be a veteran of the US armed forces - and show proof of military service.
  • The applicant must meet with the Job Training-Healthcare Specialist and complete a noncredit course registration form and any additional enrollment requirements.
  • The applicant must have a goal to get a job as an EMT or continue to post-secondary education after completing the program.

Yvette believed passionately in service and dedicated her life to helping others. As a Rotarian for over 20 years, she held leadership roles of all kinds, chaired major fundraising campaigns, and taught others by example and word how they could be of service. Yvette served on the leadership boards of many area organizations: Lehigh Carbon Community College, Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Kutztown University, Allentown Economic Development Commission, LEAP, United Way, and Phoebe Ministries.
