AAA East Penn Scholarship

Through a generous donation from AAA East Penn Scholarship Fund, an endowed scholarship has been established to assist deserving students with the cost of attending college at LCCC.  Available for Fall and Spring. Scholarships are awarded to new and continuing students.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate need as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Be enrolled for at least six credits for fall and spring semesters.

Restrictions:
  • College employees receiving the tuition waiver benefit for themselves, spouses, and legal dependents and individuals who are or who have previously been legal dependents (while the administrator was employed by the College) for courses taken at the College will not be eligible for any Lehigh Carbon Community College scholarship funding.

 


Allentown Young Professionals

The Allentown Young Professionals Association provides $1,000 in an annual scholarships to the College to help students gain access to higher education through LCCC; specifically to defray a portion of the costs of tuition and fees for the academic year.   Available for Fall and Spring. Scholarships are awarded to new and continuing students.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate need as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Resident of Allentown
  • Preference given to minority students 
  • Submit essay on the following topic: "What goals are you pursuing that your education will help you accomplish"
  • Complete an Interview Skills Program through LCCC Career Services Center

Alumni Legacy Scholarship

To provide aid to a deserving student or students who wish to pursue their education at Lehigh Carbon Community College and are children or grandchildren of an LCCC graduate.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a child or grandchild of an LCCC Graduate.
  • Must attend LCCC during the semester following submission of the application.
  • Minimum GPA 2.0 
  • Demonstrate community service.
  • Complete an essay, "Why have you chosen the academic or career field you are pursuing"?

Annabelle B. Creveling Nursing Scholarship

Scholarship award to a second year Associate Degree Nursing student.  This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester.

Qualifications:
  • Second Year Associate Degree Nursing student
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Three quarter time (9-11 credits) to full time enrollment (12 or more credits)
  • Estimated Family Contribution of 4400 – 8000 as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Preference given to an Allentown School District Graduate and/or a resident of Allentown
  • Student must submit a note of thanks to the donor

Anne Jaindl Nursing Scholarship

Scholarship award to a Nursing student.  This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester.

Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in the Nursing program
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Restrictions:

Arcadia Foundation Arts Scholarship

As part of the College's 50th anniversary, a grant was approved by the Arcadia Foundation to fund scholarships for students in our Fine Arts Program.

Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in the Fine Arts/Studio Arts A.A. (ARTA) program
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

ARP CTI Tuition Assistance Fund

The ARP CTI Tuition Assistance Fund is to provide tuition assistance to students who have experienced a financial hardship due to COVID and have graduated in June 2021 from LCTI, CCTI, STC




ARP Student Emergency Funds Fall 2021

Student Emergency funds are made available through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III authorized by the American Rescue Plan (ARP). 

LCCC is prioritzing students with exceptional financial need as exhibited on the FAFSA.  Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.  Completing this form does not guarantee funding availability.

Betty Jane Lee Nursing Scholarship

Established in 1995 to support the Associate Degree Nursing Program at LCCC.  This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester.

Qualifications:
  • First-year Associate Degree Nursing Student
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 8 credits in the Associate Degree Nursing Program at LCCC
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Blue Knights, Sgt Ronald Kulp Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship fund is provided to a deserving student in the Criminal Justice program, in memory of Ronald Kulp, a retired Sergeant from the Whitehall Township Police Department, who served the community with pride and dedication for 30 years before retiring in 1993. Prior to becoming a Law Enforcement Officer, Sgt. Kulp was a US Marine and graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police academy.  The Membership of the Blue Knights PA III Chapter offers this scholarship in memory of Sgt. Ronald Kulp. During his career and into retirement, Sgt. Kulp continued to be a strong proponent of training in all aspects of the Law Enforcement Community, to make sure each and every officer he worked with and trained were the "best of the best".Sgt. Kulp passed away in September 2015.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a second year, full time student enrolled in the Criminal Justice program.
  • Must reside in the Lehigh Valley.
  • Special consideration shall be given to a person who holds a PA Class M motorcycle license and/or the son or daughter of a parent employed in Law Enforcement.
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Boyle Construction Scholarship

Funds are available to students enrolled in Construction Management or Construction Technology.  

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in Construction Management or Construction Technology program
  • Enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits
  • Minimum GPA 2.0
Restrictions:
  • College employees receiving the tuition waiver benefit for themselves, spouses, and legal dependents and individuals who are or who have previously been legal dependents (while the administrator was employed by the College) for courses taken at the College will not be eligible for any Lehigh Carbon Community College scholarship funding.



Brenda Frana Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is made possible through generous donations from family and friends, in honor of Brenda Frana.  Brenda was an employee at Lehigh Carbon Community College for over 13 years and most recently was a Administrative Assistant in the Healthcare and Science Department.  Brenda passed away in March 2018.  This scholarship will benefit students in the LCCC Nursing program with the cost of tuition, fees, books and supplies. This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester. 

Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in the Nursing (ADN) or Practical Nursing Certificate (NURC) program.
  • Be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credits
  • Minimum GPA 2.8
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Thank you note to the donor is required

Bruce L. Rothrock Sr. Entrepreneurial Scholarship

The Bruce L. Rothrock, Sr. Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to cover educational expenses to Lehigh, Carbon, and Schuylkill county residents at Lehigh Carbon Community College. Students must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a degree in entrepreneurship and/or taking a non­credit small business course or workshop. 

Qualifications:
  • Resident of Lehigh, Carbon, or Schuylkill County.
  • Intent to open a small business.
  • Student should complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which determines whether the student is eligible for federal funds.
  • Enroll full time or part time.
  • Available for non-credit courses.

Restrictions:

Byron L. Shoemaker Scholarship

The scholarship was established in the fall of 2017 in memory of Byron L. Shoemaker, who passed away in February. He was a native of Lehighton and also lived in Pottstown and Macungie before settling in Allentown. He was a 1969 graduate of Lehighton Area High School and Lebanon Valley College. He also earned his MBA from Lehigh University. He was a strong believer in the community college mission. Scholarship funds can be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies and other related expenses.  The scholarship is open to recent high school graduates and returning adults.

Qualifications:
  • Be a resident of Lehighton 
  • Preference given to students enrolled in Health Care Science programs, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management and Education programs
  • Be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits.
  • Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Restrictions:

Century Fund Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to low income residents of Allentown for credit ESL courses.  Award is only for students registered for credit ESL courses.  Students can only be awarded scholarship funds for a total of two semesters.  Evidence of previous educational success and extra-curricular activities in school and the community will be taken into consideration. 

Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or other eligible non-citizen
  • Must be a resident of the City of Allentown
  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and provide a statement of financial need

Charles Hoch ESL Scholarship

The Charles Hoch ESL scholarship provides financial assistance for credit ESL courses at sponsored tuition rates.

Eligible candidates should:
  • Register for credit ESL courses
  • Complete a scholarship application
Students can only be awarded scholarship funds for a total of two semesters. Evidence of financial need and previous educational success/community contributions will be taken into consideration.

Cindy J. Rifenburg OTA/Healthcare Sciences Scholarship

The scholarship is available to senior OTA/Healthcare Science students entering their final semester of the program.

Qualifications:

 
  • OTA/Healthcare Science student in the last academic semester of the OTA/Healthcare Science Program
  • For OTA students ONLY - Registered for final clincial fieldwork level II
  • Maintained a GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrate community service or active participation in LCCC student organizations

Clifford Miller Scholarship

Scholarships are available to students in specific Technology programs.  Funds can be used for tuition, fees, books and other related expenses.

Qualifications:
  • Awards are available to student enrolled in the following programs:

Cristin Terwilliger "Love Bug" Memorial Scholarship

To provide aid to a deserving student or students who wish to pursue an Early Childhood Education degree at Lehigh Carbon Community College.  Scholarship is awarded in the spring semester by faculty reccomendation.

Qualifications:
  • Early Childhood Education Major (A.A.S)
  • Second year student
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA application.
Restrictions:

CRRSAA MSI Dual Enrollment Tuition Assistance Fund

The CRRSSA MSI Dual Enrollment Tuition Assistance Fund is to provide tuition assistance to students who have experienced a financial hardship due to COVID and have participated in Dual Enrollment while in high school, graduated high school in 2021 and are matriculating to LCCC as a regular degree seeking student in Fall 2021.

 



CRRSAA Student Emergency Funds

Student Emergency funds are made available through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA). 

LCCC is prioritzing students with exceptional financial need as exhibited on the FAFSA.  Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.  Completing this form does not guarantee funding availability.  You must be a current US Citizen or Permanent Resident to receive these funds.  


CRRSAA Tuition Assistance Fund

Tuition Assistance Funds are made available through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA).

Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation Scholarship

Mr. and Mrs. Stabler recognize the importance of education and are aware of the fact that many young men and women may not be able to attain the benefit of higher education without financial assistance. The Stablers also believe the recipients of financial assistance should recognize an obligation and be encouraged to return that which they receive so that others may be advantaged by similar assistance.  The scholarship is open to all students of Lehigh Carbon Community College. Available to credit and non-credit students.  Each recipient of a Stabler scholarship shall sign a letter of intent to contribute to Lehigh Carbon Community College monies at least equal to the amounts received. The commitment letter is a ""debt of conscience"" and not a legal obligation.

Qualifications:
  • Consideration shall be given to the character, motivation and achievements of candidates who give indication of their eagerness for a college education, do not expect a free education and recognize the virtues of working for what they receive.

Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation Scholarship Sep 8 2021 10:06AM

Mr. and Mrs. Stabler recognize the importance of education and are aware of the fact that many young men and women may not be able to attain the benefit of higher education without financial assistance. The Stablers also believe the recipients of financial assistance should recognize an obligation and be encouraged to return that which they receive so that others may be advantaged by similar assistance.  The scholarship is open to all students of Lehigh Carbon Community College. Available to credit and non-credit students.  Each recipient of a Stabler scholarship shall sign a letter of intent to contribute to Lehigh Carbon Community College monies at least equal to the amounts received. Elmer Gates Scholarship Fund

The scholarship fund provides funds to veterans, first responders and graduates of Skills USA Council.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a Veteran, First Responder or graduate of Skills USA Council
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Must show evidence of community service and/or entrepreneurship

EZ Micro Scholarship

To provide scholarship funds to cover tuition, fees, books, and supplies to students enrolled in specific computer programs at LCCC. Students must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.  This scholarship is awarded for Spring semester.

Follett Higher Education Group Scholarship

Scholarships provided to new and continuing students within Lehigh, Carbon and Schuylkill counties who show academic promise and demonstrate community involvement.

Qualifications:
  • Be admitted and enrolled in a degree or certificate program.
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits
Restrictions:

Frederick G. Bartlett, Jr. Memorial Transitions Mentors Scholarship

Scholarship award to a student majoring in Teacher Education.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a Teacher Education major.
  • Preference to those in the Special Education program.
  • Must be or have been a mentor in the Parkland/LCCC Transitions program

Fritzges-Harris Student Practical Nurse Achievement Award

The Fritzges-Harris award is made possible through a generous donation from Judy Fritzges, a former part-time faculty member and clinical instructor in the LPN program.  The donation is in memory of her aunt, Katherine, whom Judy received an inheritance.  Funds are designated to a deserving student in the practical nursing certificate program.

Qualifications
  • Awards are designated to NUR 116 (spring semester) and NUR 126 (summer semester)
  • Student must complete an application and essay
  • Student may be interviewed by Nursing faculty and donor
  • Minimum GPA 2.0
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) not required

Jack Gasper Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship provides funds to second year students majoring in Criminal Justice Administration A.A.  The scholarship was established in honor if the late Jack T. Gasper II, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice Administration and Coordinator of Criminal Justice Administration and Social Services at Lehigh Carbon Community College.  This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in the Criminal Justice Administration A.A. program
  • Enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Last year student with intent to transfer to a four year college/university to major in Criminal Justice
  • Ideally, student will have proven leadership on campus
  • Complete a short essay – “What career path do you plan to pursue in Criminal Justice Administration and how have you contributed to the LCCC community?”

Joseph A. & Frances I. Alban Family Scholarship

The Joseph A. & Frances I. Alban Family Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to cover tuition, fees, books and supplies to Lehigh and Carbon County high school graduates for enrollment at Lehigh Carbon Community College. Students must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need and an interest in pursuing a degree in math or science with intent toward a career in medicine.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Lehigh or Carbon County high school
  • Intent to transfer to a four-year college or university after completing an associate degree at Lehigh Carbon Community College (preferred but not necessary)
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 
  • Have earned 30 or more credits 
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Participate in community service
  • Maintain a 3.0 grade point average with continual enrollment
  • Enrolled full time (minimum 12 credits)

La Société des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux 697 - Forty and Eight

Veterans returning home from World War I formed an organization where they could enjoy each other's company, serve others who were less fortunate, and show respect for the work done by American nurses who served near the trenches of the front lines.  Forty and Eight was formed in memory of the French using railroads to carry personnel and horses close to the front lines.  The small boxcars could carry forty people or eight horses. After World War II, the French send 49 "Gratitude Boxcars", one for each state and one for the District of Columbia, to America to thank our country for our support in the World Wars.  This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in Nursing (ADN)
  • Second year student
  • Minimum GPA 2.75
  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Consideration will be given to the student who, in the opinion of the nursing faculty, will be most successful in the workplace and who will represent the college and the nursing program

LCCC Foundation Scholarship

The Lehigh Carbon Community College Foundation provides $100,000 in annual scholarships to the College to help students gain access to higher education through LCCC; specifically to defray a portion of the costs of tuition and fees for the academic year. The goal is to help as many students as possible. Available for Fall and Spring. Scholarships are awarded to new and continuing students.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate need as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Minimum GPA 2.0

LCCC Veteran-Military Scholarship

The LCCC Veteran-Military Scholarship recognizes veteran and military students, spouses and dependents who demonstrate a commitment to pursuing higher education, academic success and community service.  Funds can be used towards books, supplies, and other related expenses.


Qualifications:
  • Open to Veterans and active-duty military service members (Pre-and post-9/11 service eras) from all branches of the U.S. Military including National Guard and Reserves, as well as dependents and spouses.
  • Minimum GPA 2.5.
  • Admitted to the college and enrolled in a degree or certificate program.
  • Registered for a minimum of 12 credits.
  • Award will be given in fall and spring semesters.
  • Submit an application along with a short essay (up to 500 words) for the following question:

LeCoMASE (Lehigh County Medical Auxiliary Scholarship and Educational Fund) Nursing Award

To provide scholarships to students enrolled in the ADN program.  This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester.

Qualifications:
  • Second year in the ADN Program
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Earned an 'A' for one of the following courses:  ADN 150​, ADN 160, or ADN 173

Lisa Jane Scheller Technology Scholarship

The fund provides scholarships for students from Lehigh Career and Technical Institute and Carbon Career Technical Institute who attend Lehigh Carbon Community College.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate (complete a program of study) from LCTI or CCTI in the current year or have graduated within 12 months previous to the application due date of June 30.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Lorraine M. Luckenbach Scholarship

The scholarship fund is to provide financial assistance to a female student, preference to a woman of Native American descent, who demonstrates financial need.

  • Minimum GPA 2.8
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Lutron Career Readiness Scholarship

The scholarship provides funds to cover tuition, fees, books and supplies to current and new students within Lehigh, Carbon and Schuylkill counties who show academic promise. If a student meets all requirements, upon completion of the program, the student will be guaranteed an interview at Lutron. This is not a guarantee of employment.  Qualified students are eligible to apply for the scholarships for up to three semesters.  Recipients are required to attend one workshop in the Career Development Center during the semester the scholarship is received.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum GPA 3.2
  • Enrolled in a degree program
  • Registered for a minimum of 11 credits
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Nevin Remaley Aviation Scholarship

Scholarships are available to assist students enrolled in the Aviation Science A.A.S. and Professional Pilot A.A.S. programs.  Funds can be used for tuition, fees, books and other related expenses.

Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in the Aviation Science A.A.S. or Professional Pilot A.A.S. program as a second year student.
  • Minimum GPA 2.5.
  • Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Preference to a resident of Pennsylvania
  • Essay required - short paragraph describing why you are in the program and why have you taken this career path and how do you see your future changing by completing this program.

Pepsi Scholarship

Pepsi awards scholarships to deserving students through the LCCC Foundation.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum GPA 2.0
  • Be registered for a minimum of 6 credits
  • Enrolled in a degree or certificate program
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

PPL Gap Funding for STEM Programs

Funding from PPL may be available for students in STEM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), who are no longer eligible for traditional forms of financial aid.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a second year student or completed 30 or more credits
  • Must be enrolled in a STEM program

Robert G. Koehler Scholarship

The Robert G. Koehler Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of a talented young man. Robert G. Koehler was a 1976 graduate of William Allen High School. He held an Associate in Applied Science degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College. He had a promising career with Pennsylvania Power & Light as an electrical draftsman and was an avid sports fan. Robert was killed in an automobile accident in February, 1992, at the age of 33 years old. Mr. Koehler’s parents contributed the scholarship endowment to help other students attain the educational opportunity that Robert enjoyed at the college.

Qualifications:
  • Major in Mechanical Technology or Drafting and Design.
  • Enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits.

Sandra “Sandye” Caruso Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship fund is to provide financial assistance to a student enrolled in the Physical Therapist Assistant program that has demonstrated academic success and has financial need.

Qualifications:
  • Open to all students enrolled in the PTA program
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Scheller Family Foundation Scholarship

The Roberta and Ernest Scheller Jr. Family Foundation Scholarship is an endowed scholarship fund, established in 2009. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide aid to deserving Schuylkill County residents who are graduates of LCCC through the John and Dorothy Morgan Center for Higher Learning, and who wish to pursue their education at Kutztown University, Bloomsburg University, East Stroudsburg University or other such institution that is part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).

Qualifications:
  • Must be a current Schuylkill County resident AND Have been a Schuylkill County resident during attendance and graduation from LCCC
  • Must be a recent LCCC graduate, or plan on graduating in the current year AND have earned or will earn either an Assoc. of Arts, Assoc of Science and/or Assoc. of Applied Science degree
  • Does not include LCCC Certificate programs
  • Applicants must demonstrate a financial need by completing a FAFSA prior to April 1 and for each year in which they will receive the scholarship to the school they are attending after LCCC 
  • Must be accepted by: An institution of Pennsylvania State System of High Education (PASSHE). Student must be accepted to a program of study for a baccalaureate degree that can be completed in a maximum of two years (Full time, four semesters. Summer and inter-sessions not included).
  • Application must include a copy of the Letter of Acceptance from the institution 
  • Applicant must consent to release of financial aid and transcript information to the LCCC Foundation for purposes of determining continuing eligibility
  • Provide the Foundation, and keep current, email and telephone contact information once student has begun at the institution
  • Participate in a work study at the University each semester. (A part time or full-time job is equivalent to work study)
  • Agree in advance if the student withdraws from classes, the refund will be sent directly to the LCCC Foundation

S-STEM Scholarship

Students enrolled in one of 25 STEM programs at Lehigh Carbon Community College have the opportunity to receive up to $5,000 in scholarships per year through a new  five-year, $1 million grant from the National Science Foundation. The Scholarships in STEM (S-STEM) program is designed to give opportunities to students in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields and encourage them pursue these promising careers.
 
As part of this new scholarship program, students will:
             Participate in activities related to their area of study,
             Receive support services that help prepare them for college and career,
             Work with faculty mentors who will guide them and promote their success,
             Prepare for the STEM workforce by creating an online portfolio  showcasing their goals, reflections and achievements.

 

Requirements

Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for an S-STEM scholarship:
  • U.S. citizen or national, refugee alien, or permanent resident alien,
  • Full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 credits each semester) in one of the eligible STEM programs,
  • Low income (Pell grant recipient) and demonstrate financial need as defined by the U.S. Department of Education rules for need-based federal student aid,
  • Academic potential or ability as demonstrated by:
    • For entering students: Acceptable scores on the SAT, ACT or the college’s placement test
    • For current students: Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or greater on a 4.0 scale by the end of the first semester
    • For continued participation: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater by the end of the second semester and throughout the student’s program of study

The goal is to help as many new students as possible. Available for Fall and Spring. Scholarships are awarded to new students.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate need as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Awards available to incoming or returning students accepted into the Teachers Education Program.

The Blanche Merker Memorial Fund

The Blanche Merker Memorial Fund provides $1,000 in an annual scholarships to the College to help students gain access to higher education through LCCC; specifically to for Paralegal students.   Available for Fall and Spring. Scholarships are awarded to new and continuing students.  Scholarship can be used for tuition, fees, books, and supplies.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate need as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Be enrolled in Paralegal Studies A.A.S. (PLG) or Paralegal Studies Certificate (PLGC)

The Jim and Penny Pantano Health Sciences and Technology Scholarship

Through the generosity of Dr. James and Penny Pantano, the Lehigh Carbon Community College Foundation will award three $1,500 scholarships for the spring semester to continuing students within Lehigh, Carbon, and Schuylkill counties who show academic promise and demonstrate community involvement.  Recipients may be required to attend a luncheon, hosted by the donor.

Qualifications:
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Be employed for at least 6 hours per week
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 2.5
  • Be a second year student
  • Be a U.S. citizen

Three C Scholarship

The Three C scholarship provides aid to qualified high school students graduating from one of the college’s four sponsoring school districts in Carbon County (sponsoring districts include Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Panther Valley and Palmerton school districts) and who will be attending LCCC beginning in the fall of 2014, 2015, and 2016. This scholarship has been extended to the 2022-2023 academic years.

This scholarship is limited to a total of six credits per semester, two semesters per year (fall and spring only). A scholarship award is for two semesters (fall and spring). Renewals are permitted once. Students must continue to be in good academic standing and be registered for at least 12 credits for the fall of the coming year.

Qualifications:
  • Be a graduate of a high school in a Carbon County sponsoring school district (Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Panther Valley and Palmerton school districts)
  • Have attended that high school for no fewer than the two consecutive academic years immediately prior to graduation
  • Apply for admission to and register with LCCC no later than May 15 (priority date) 
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no later than May 15(priority filing date)
  • Be a degree-seeking candidate enrolled in at least twelve (12) credit hours each semester, fall and spring, in a qualified program
  • Be in good academic standing (not on academic probation)
  • Pay for or arrange funding for six or more credits and fees each semester, after which qualified awardees will receive a scholarship for six additional credits

Yolanda Geosits Danko Memorial Nursing Scholarship

To provide scholarships for the education and training of young men and women in Nursing. The donor wishes to remember and honor the contributions of those nurses and aides who attended to Yolanda Geosits Danko and encourage like behavior and sensitivity among future nursing students.  This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester.

Qualifications:
  • Student is in the first year at LCCC in the ADN program
  • Student is in good academic standing
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Student meets the standards set for the ADN program at LCCC
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Yvette M. Palmer Interrupted Studies Scholarship

Yvette believed passionately in service and dedicated her life to helping others. As a Rotarian for over 20 years, she held leadership roles of all kinds, chaired major fundraising campaigns, and taught others by example and word how they could be of service. Yvette served on the leadership boards of many area organizations: Lehigh Carbon Community College, Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Kutztown University, Allentown Economic Development Commission, LEAP, United Way, and Phoebe Ministries. The Yvette M. Palmer Interrupted Studies Scholarship honors her memory and continues her values and beliefs in assisting others.

The scholarship covers only tuition and fees not covered by federal and state aid, excepting only student loans. Students may reapply in subsequent years. 

Qualifications:
  • Preference given to part-time women students; full-time women students are not excluded. Men may apply.
  • Be out of educational process (high school or college) for a year or more prior to this term for any reason.
  • Be enrolled and registered in at least two courses at LCCC designed to assist them reentering the workforce and express intent to re-enter the workforce during or as a result of their educational efforts.
  • Provide one letter of reference from a non-family member.
  • Provide a brief essay or statement why the student is qualified to receive the scholarship.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 2.5

ZZZ - Occupational Therapy Assistant Scholarship

The scholarship is available to senior OTA students entering their final semester of the program.

Qualifications:
  • OTA student in the last academic semester of the OTA Program
  • Registered for final clincial fieldwork level II
  • Enrolled in a minimum of two OTA courses
  • Maintained a GPA of 3.0 in all OTA courses
  • Demonstrate commitment to the profession or community through community service or active participation in student OT organizations

ZZZ Presidential Emergency Grant

Our mission at the college has always been centered on providing students with an affordable and quality education. It is through this mission that the LCCC Foundation has provided President Bieber the ability to offer an allocated $5,000 per semester to use at her discretion to aid students. Through these funds, under the Presidential Emergency Grant, Lehigh Carbon Community College will be able to assist students with emergency financial aid when unforeseen events occur and disrupt a student's education such as a death in the family, loss of income or other life-altering events. If you know of a student who may benefit from the Presidential Emergency Grant and falls within the criteria for consideration, please encourage that individual to complete the application and submit it to the President's Office. Applications will be considered on an on-going basis until all funds are exhausted, with decisions rendered within 7-10 days of receipt.
